Some of our longstanding mini-conferences include:

  • Military Sociology

  • Reproduction

  • Health Professions Education

  • Teaching

  • Environmental Sociology

Recent mini-conferences include:

  • Sociology of Reproduction and Disability

  • The Critical Sociology of Death

  • Transnational Asian/America

  • Critical Migration

  • Carework

  • Decolonial/Decolonizing

  • Black Placemaking and Worldmaking: Space, Power, and Possibility

We invite you to explore our past conference programs to learn more about these mini-conferences and their presenters.

We also welcome proposals for mini-conferences for our 97th Annual Conference, taking place March 3–7, 2027, in Philadelphia. The theme is: “Understanding Difference in a Divided Age”.

A formal call for proposals will be distributed by mid-May, with submissions due by June 30.
