This award is given to an inaugural author whose article (single- or first-authored) was submitted, accepted, and published for the first time with Sociological Forum. All authors publishing for the first time in the journal are automatically eligible. The prize-winning paper is decided annually by a panel drawn from members of the Sociological Forum Editorial Board and awarded at the ESS Annual Meeting.
