Co‑sponsorship isn’t just helpful to you—

it’s the engine that keeps a great academic conference running.

As costs rise and revenues stay flat, partners like you make it possible for ESS to deliver the kind of conference sociologists love: lively, rigorous, inclusive, and full of opportunities to learn, connect, and grow.

Each year, ESS brings together hundreds of sociologists for open sessions, presidential panels, professional development workshops, and more than ten mini‑conferences buzzing with new ideas. Our presidential address, awards ceremony, and the Robin J. Williams, Jr. Distinguished Lecture are signature moments, followed by receptions that spark conversation and collaboration. Our undergraduate poster session is a launchpad. For many students, it’s their first time presenting research—and often the moment they begin imagining themselves as future scholars.

HIGHLY VISIBLE PROMOTION

Our co‑sponsors get prominent visibility: your department and university logos appear on all ESS materials, from the website to the conference app to the online program. It’s a powerful way to showcase your commitment to sociology and to your students. Past contributions have ranged from $250 to $8,000. Recent sponsors include American University, Rutgers University, UC Washington Program, and multiple Boston‑area institutions. For 2026, George Mason University stepped up with commitments from three units totaling $6,000.

Join us in supporting the 97th Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, March 4-7, 2027. Together, we can continue building a conference that’s intellectually bold, accessible, and inspiring for scholars at every stage.
