Undergraduate Information

Dear Colleagues

Below is information about Undergraduate submissions — posters, of course, but also the special and time-sensitive process for paper submissions. This information can also be found on the Annual Meeting page of our website (http://essnet.org).  When you enter the ESS Portal to submit abstracts, you will be asked upfront whether or not you are an Undergraduate.   PLEASE be sure to indicate if you (or the person on whose behalf you are submitting) is an undergraduate so that we can make sure your submission receives the proper attention.

Please circulate to your colleagues and students who may be interested. We look forward to seeing you in Baltimore.

2018 Annual Meeting:

As Time Goes By: Social and Institutional Change

Hyatt Regency Baltimore, February 22-25

Undergraduate Submissions

As has been the tradition, the standard method of presentation for undergraduates will be posters that will be displayed in several separate sessions during the heart of the conference. Undergraduates interested in participating should submit their poster themes using the Abstract Submission System available on the ESS website (http://essnet.org) under the Annual Meeting tab. Please indicate that you are an undergraduate student and ensure that you have submitted your poster entry materials by December 15. If you have questions about the Undergraduate Poster Sessions, you should contact Dr. Antonio (Jay) Pastrana, Jr.  apastrana@jjay.cuny.edu

Paper Presentations

A few undergraduate students will be selected to present in oral round table or panel sessions.  Undergraduate students wishing to have their work considered for a regular paper session rather than the Undergraduate Poster Sessions must submit their abstracts into the ESS abstract system available on the ESS website (http://essnet.org) under the Annual Meeting tab by October 15Please be sure to indicate that you are an undergraduate student. Dr. Shelley White will review those submissions and will notify the selected students.  Those students who are not selected for paper presentation will be rolled over into the poster sessions unless we hear that the student does not wish to participate in the Undergraduate Poster Sessions.  If your abstract is conditionally accepted for a paper session, the completed paper must be sent to Dr. White by December 10 for final review.
