Tenure-track, Assistant Professor, Louisiana State University


The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin Fall 2017.

Candidates will teach for the Department of Sociology and conduct research in sub-specialty of the primary department.

Required Qualifications:  Ph.D. in Sociology or related field.  Candidates with Ph.D. in hand are preferred, but we will consider those who are close to completion and will finish by the time of appointment.  Specialization in Race/Ethnicity with a quantitative background in order to enhance our existing strength in these areas.  Candidates should show promise of developing a strong record of publications; potential for research funding is also desirable.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.  Application review will begin October 23, 2016, and will continue until a candidate is selected.
