CALL FOR PANELISTS

2020 Eastern Sociological Society Annual Meeting

We are organizing two sessions on Sociology and Community Engagement for the ESS Committee on Gender Equity and welcome abstracts that are related to Community-Based Learning and/or Community-Based Research. Please submit your abstract to the appropriate organizer via email by  Oct. 1, 2019. Panelists will be informed of abstract acceptance by Oct. 10, 2019. We also encourage you to submit your abstract to the ESS paper submission online to ensure inclusion in the conference program.  

 


Panel 1:

Activism, Community Engagement and Public Sociology: Community-Based Learning

(Panel Session Sponsored by the Committee for Gender Equity)

This panel session will explore current trends, issues, and advancements in the realm of teaching sociology and community-based learning. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to share the challenges and rewards of community partnerships and community-based learning courses/projects.
