The Discussion Forums are always developing and your ideas and suggestions are important in setting the direction and quality of the content. We do not enable anonymous postings, so the name you used to register for this site will be associated with your posts. Registered users are able to edit their profiles to determine how their name is displayed and which category of users can view which category of profile information contained in their record.

REMEMBER that all content posted in the forums will be PUBLIC information.

  • For those in pre-retirement statuses: It is natural to engage in discussions of retirement planning well ahead of making a "public" retirement decision or of having signaled to an employer that you may be close to retiring. Since this is a public forum and your postings will not be anonymous, you ought to consider whether the content of any specific message or reply you may post could likely prematurely reveal your yet undisclosed intentions--and edit the content with that possibility in mind. Private contacts between registered members who are networked via the site will, of course, not be publicly visible; therefore, sensitive concerns and discussions can still be exchanged privately among members using the private messaging options that are included in the discussion forum feature (or by usual email routes).
  • For everyone:
    • Be mindful of the need to be discreet when offering advice or comment in the forum arena and to not "blow the cover" of someone known to be concerned about having his or her retirement intentions being prematurely revealed through activity on this site.
    • You may edit your profile at any time to include or exclude current and past employment and personal contact information.

For most, this will clarify the privacy concerns associated with our forums. For others who may be more concerned about privacy issues related to this site, see the Privacy Statement, which is linked at the very bottom of each page throughout the site.
