CFP committee sponsored panel on Campus Climate

Call for Abstracts on “Examining the Role of Sociologists in Campus Climate Scholarship and Implementation” Paper session for 2017 Eastern Sociological Society Annual Meeting. The session is sponsored by the Committee on the Status of Women.

An increasing number of universities are implementing campus climate studies to assess their education and workplace cultures.  This panel aims to explore sociologists’ involvement in and engagement with their campus climate studies.  We seek to create a dialogue among scholars participating in campus climate research, advising administration on the utilization of campus climate data for decision-making, and using their sociological knowledge and methodological tools to affect campus cultural climate change. This session is especially relevant to the conference theme, “The End of the World as We Know It?” as universities adapt to changing demographics and grow in their awareness and engagement with discriminatory behaviors and systemic practices in institutions of higher education.

Authors must submit their abstracts through the ESS submission system at  by Oct 15, 2016.
